Suspicious Investment Opportunity Alert

ASIC is warning of a suspicious investment opportunity.

ASIC has issued a warning about a suspicious investment opportunity by an entity named ‘Validus’ via the following websites:

https://teamsvalidus.com/ ; https://validus-team-official.com/ and https://www.validus.click/start-validus

These websites and a Facebook Group named “Validus Australia”, are promoting investments that promise a 300% return, made possible by professional traders.

However, ASIC warns that the exorbitant rates of return are unrealistic and should be treated with extreme caution. ASIC’s is also concerned that:

  • Validus does not hold an Australian financial services (AFS) licence and is not licensed to provide financial services of this manner in Australia.

  • Customers who have invested in Validus’ financial services will not be protected if they are engaging in scam activities, especially if paying via crypto-assets as they don’t have the same protections as payments made by other means such as transferring funds to an Australian bank account.
  • -          Validus is encouraging investors to recruit new investors into the scheme, which is a classic sign of a pyramid scheme, and a sign they may be engaging in a scam.
